One recent presidential election Toodles reputation was almost ruined when it was found that she was not having an affair with the popular presidential candidate. As soon as the question arose, as it was bound to do sooner or later, the then governor vehemently denied everything as expected. However, unexpectedly everyone seemed to believe him. Distraught, Toodles pulled out a document for proof but it turned out only to be a recipe for pound cake sent by the then governor fifteen years earlier. Hysterical, Toodles pointed out the open ended 'If I or my staff can be of any assistance in the future don't hesitate to contact me.' but it was futile. Toodles for once in her life was totally clean and innocent. She broke down in tears on national television. Toodles spirits were somewhat lifted when she received tons of mail from her fans saying that the episode did not change their opinion about her and that they still believed her to be a disgusting, perverted slut and it was okay to be nice every now and again, after all everybody did it once and awhile.

 

POUND CAKE 1 lb. butter 3 cups sugar 6 egos 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring 1 cup buttermilk Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one. Then alternately add the dry ingredients with buttermilk mixing well after each addition. Bake in tube pan that has been oiled and floured at 350° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
