Rumors and gossip proliferate accusing Toodles of un-American activities. While it is true that Toodles was not born in America, but in the south of France. and she was involved in the Blue Cheese Conspiracy of '29. That she left her homeland to live in the US of A should say a lot despite the incident of the twelve men that were found dead in the wine vat in France. That had absolutely nothing to do with Toodles hasty departure, but was a completely meaningless coincidence. Toodles had loved them all very dearly, and was so distraught over their deaths she wore weepers for ten years afterwards. As for Toodles' involvement with the Blue Cheese Conspiracy, that was a sad case of peer pressure from the rats with whom she was then sharing an apartment. She does admit that she liked it when they tied her to the table and blindfolded her. However, she became completely patriotic after Eisenhower puked on Miss Manners' shiny black pumps during a gay Communist rights rally, and has been so ever since. |
